What is a Short Sale?
A Short Sale is when a lender is willing to take less then the amount owed on your mortgage. Of course, there is no guarantee that a lender will allow a Short Sale;
it depends on your particular circumstances. It is sort of like applying to get out of a mortgage and lenders have very specific set of rules in order to accept a Short
Sale. It also takes a Realtor who knows exactly what he/she is doing and it needs to be done with specific disclosures and knowledge to make sure it is performed
legally and not put you, the homeowner, in a situation where you will be contractually responsible for situations you cannot perform.
