Worthington Ohio was settled in 1803 by families from
Connecticut and Massachusetts. They designed a New England
Style village around a central public square which still
exists today. This is where the community has summer band
concerts and arts festivals. The entire city of Worthington
Ohio is filled with history. The New England origins can
be seen in the buildings, both old and new. The population

proximity to downtown and Ohio State University makes

top in the Central Ohio area. On the most recent State
Report Card, which is issued by the Ohio Department of
Education for all Ohio schools, the Worthington School
District met 22 out of 22 standards and achieved a rating
of "Excellent." Worthington is one of seven
districts in Franklin County to meet all 22 standards.
There are currently 12 elementary schools, 4 middle schools
and 2 high schools in the city of Worthington. In October
of 2002 the total Worthington Ohio school enrollment was
9,934. The high school enrollment (3,353) will stabilize,
middle school enrollment (1,619) will remain stable, and
elementary/PreK enrollment (4,924) is expected to decrease.
The Worthington Ohio real estate market is much sought
after.
With Worthington having top ranked schools, its housing
market is much sought after. The district has approximately
23,000 housing units with a wide range of types and prices.
Residential development is nearing saturation. There is
